The agenda for our in-person day at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham

We’re so excited to be running a day at Conference in-person again, allowing us all to get together and catch up after far too long from behind screens. We’ve based our agenda for these face to face sessions on the strategic topics you’ve told us you want to see and hear about. We’re really looking forward to seeing you there.

Want to see something more on the agenda? Take a look at how to get involved with our online day on Monday 15 April - there might be a session already planned, or if not you can run one yourself!

early evening on Monday 15 April

  • Leadership meet and greet

  • Monday 15 April, 5-6pm, hotel bar at Aloft Birmingham Eastside
For local leaders travelling to Conference in advance of our in-person day, this is an informal chance to meet and chat with our National Executive team and representatives of our Board of Trustees.

Plenary agenda sessions on Tuesday 16 April

  • Opening address from our CEO,
    Clare Moriarty

The Power and Potential of Civil Society in Communities

  • 13.30-14.40, Affinity 2
Along with many other charities, the cost-of-living crisis has seen demand for our services skyrocket. As incomes fall and demand increases, innovation is crucial to future-proof the sector. We’ll be joined by guest speaker Matt Whittaker, Chief Executive Officer, Pro Bono Economics, who will be exploring strategies to unleash the power of civil society, so it can continue to fulfil the vital role it plays in our communities, from improving people's health to boosting economic growth.

  • Awards Ceremony and celebration hour

  • 16.00-17.00, Affinity 2
Our Awards celebrate exceptional people, teams and projects from across our local service and Witness Service volunteers. You'll hear insights from our network strategy and change, public affairs and media teams, offering useful strategies to help futureproof your organisation.

  • Regional funding opportunities
    and partnership working

  • 15.00-15.50, Ashstead Suite
